Rehearsals starting back 1st February!
(From the 1st February) Tuesday evenings, from 7.30pm - 9.30pm
Choir starts promptly at 7.30pm, and our sign in desk is open from around 7.10pm
To attend choir, you just need to come along on the night - your first session is free. We're still adhering to some Covid-19 precautions which include the following:
● Upon arrival, you’ll be asked to confirm you have been double vaccinated.
● Please don’t attend a rehearsal if you have any symptoms of Covid-19 (cough, high temperature or loss of taste or smell), or cold/flu symptoms.
● Bring a full bottle of water, as we won’t be able to use the kitchen.
Your first session is free! After that the rate is £6 (£4 concessions) each rehearsal. You don't need to commit to a whole term, just come when you can.
How do rehearsals run?
We start with a vocal and movement warm-up and then get cracking on learning our set for any upcoming performances, usually working on 2 - 3 songs each week.
We will have a short break halfway through for you to rest your voice, use the facilities and have a chat with your fellow singers!
All our music is taught by call and response, so you don’t need to be able to read music, and we provide lyrics (and sometimes learning tracks) online for you to practice at home!
We have a number of conductors, each one with their own style and enthusiasms, which keeps the rest of us on our toes! We're also accompanied each week by our wonderful pianist, Tim, and for concerts we often bring on extra musicians.
